Calling Future Photographers – and Models! FHS Career Day at VagabondView’s Studio

We had the great pleasure to work with 5 intrigued and talented Falmouth High School juniors on Career Day, organized by Falmouth Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS). The students came to talk about their ambitions and ideas for the future. They were given a video demonstration of our work, a tour of the studio then we set up the shooting area and put them both behind and in front of the camera. Each photographer had to come up with her own posing and could use any of our props. It was great fun seeing the wheels turning! This message from one of our aspiring photographers sums up the day:
“Thank you SO much for allowing us the opportunity to visit your studio. It was really interesting! I’ve been playing with the idea of perhaps doing something involving photography for a while now, and this gave me a good look into how one might go about making it their profession. The advice on lighting was also really helpful; I never realized how important of a role it plays in photography. I’m going to do a bit of research, and experiment with taking photos. I can’t express how happy I am to have been given such a wonderful experience in your studio!”
It was a fun and informative morning… and we think the students enjoyed it as well!!

A big double welcome to the latest additions to the VagabondView family!! Benjamin Joseph and Liliana Catherine arrived this morning at 8:28 and 8:29, and weighing 5 pounds, 12 ounces and 5 pounds, 10 ounces – respectively. Mom, Dad and babies are all doing great. Big sisters Jen and Sophie arrived on the scene shortly after the twins’ arrival and greeted them with big hugs and kisses. Sophie will be filling her brother and sister in on what it’s like to be baby models, especially since we’ll be honing our newborn photography skills on these gorgeous little beings. Stay tuned for more pics! And welcome, Ben and Lily!!!

Lee recently attended a seminar in Omaha, Nebraska by Tracy Raver and her sister Kelly Ryden focused exclusively on newborns. Just looking at these beautiful babies makes you smile… we hope that you enjoy!

Wychmere Cape Cod Summer Wedding of Carissa and John

It was only fitting for the couple who got engaged in Paris and honeymooned in the South of France, that they chose the gorgeous location of Harwichport, on Cape Cod, MA at the Longwood Events venue of the Wychmere Beach Club. The day was perfect for Carissa and John, not because of the weather but because “everything was as it should be”. The rain at times came down sideways but you would never know it from the glow on their faces and the smiles that their guests had. The day was perfect from the “first look” in the Wychmere harborside ballroom to the gorgeous ceremony which followed overlooking the water.

We were so incredibly honored to have been such a special part of the day. We thank not only Carissa and John but also the fantastic bridal party and both families for all the fun, laughter and joy.

We hope you enjoy this video as much as we enjoyed capturing the moments…

The story behind the images:
Marc and Melissa met over 4 years ago and have been inseparable ever since! Their common interests range from travel, love of family and friends and genuinely having fun.
Their love for each other and their love for life is infectious.

The Dress: was Melissa’s Grandmother’s wedding gown from 1937. It was perfectly preserved and fit her so perfectly.

It was a picture perfect day. The bride could not have been more beautiful and the groom more joyful. We photographed the wedding of Sarah and Carl last Saturday and wanted to share a couple of sunset images. We thought this might whet the whistle for more to come.
