We had the great pleasure to work with 5 intrigued and talented Falmouth High School juniors on Career Day, organized by Falmouth Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS). The students came to talk about their ambitions and ideas for the future. They were given a video demonstration of our work, a tour of the studio then we set up the shooting area and put them both behind and in front of the camera. Each photographer had to come up with her own posing and could use any of our props. It was great fun seeing the wheels turning! This message from one of our aspiring photographers sums up the day:
“Thank you SO much for allowing us the opportunity to visit your studio. It was really interesting! I’ve been playing with the idea of perhaps doing something involving photography for a while now, and this gave me a good look into how one might go about making it their profession. The advice on lighting was also really helpful; I never realized how important of a role it plays in photography. I’m going to do a bit of research, and experiment with taking photos. I can’t express how happy I am to have been given such a wonderful experience in your studio!”
It was a fun and informative morning… and we think the students enjoyed it as well!!
